Reception Must Haves | 4 Things To Do At Your Wedding Reception

Reception ideas to ensure your wedding reception is perfect

I thought this would be a super helpful blog for any brides-to-be! The reception can be a fun atmosphere all night with a little prepping and planning! Here are four tips (+ a bonus one) to ensure you have the perfect evening!

Keep reception speeches short & sweet

Guests love fun, sweet stories that include a lot of laughter & jokes! Three minutes per person (or less) seems to be the sweet spot! This is just enough time to share all the lovely, funny, and crazy memories, but not too long that everyone will get bored!

Sharing a final dance together

Most receptions have a designated time when guests have to be out. Plan your final wedding dance right at the end time and soak up the last few minutes of your wedding day.

Pro tip ** Have the guests get ready with their sparklers, glow sticks, etc., outside during this time. When the dance has finished, you can do your “Exit” and have some beautiful final wedding images!

Reception Venue Lighting

Venue lighting is often overlooked. Be sure to check the lighting, paint color on walls, and floor/carpet color when choosing your space! Your final images will reflect this exact space!

Timing & Schedule

Timelines are great for keeping everyone on track and in the correct places. They are so helpful in ensuring nothing gets forgotten and the day flows nicely.

Last but not least

Take a moment out of the evening to stand by your new spouse and breathe in this moment. The day goes by quickly, and this will help slow things down a bit.
